Do You Still Believe That…?
NBA new season has started, and it seems like this season is one of the most difficult seasons to predict playoff teams. Especially Western Conference is full of teams that have all-star level players. Any teams can be playoff team candidate since most of the teams have great scorers and role players. This season, we can see something we never expected or predicted. Here are the some hopes which we don’t expect but still believing it to happen.
Hope1. Do you still believe that Markelle Fultz plays like No.1 pick?
Markelle Fultz is one of the most tragic No.1 draft pick in the history. When he came back to the court last season, many fans thought that “a great all round player who can lead 76ers to final is back.” But he only played 19 games and went back to rehab. This season, Fultz played 3 games so far (at 10/27/2019), and recorded 12ppg and 4.5apg with 43.5%FG. These stats are not good enough for No.1 draft pick at all, but compare to last 2 seasons, it is not a bad start for him. Magic is not full of talented players unlike 76ers. This fact might be helping him play better because after the Dwight dynasty, not many fans are expecting Magic to do well, so Fultz can play without pressure which seems he is not good at dealing with. I hope his shoulder is completely fine and show us great plays.
Hope 2. Do you believe that Ben Simmons can make 3p?
Last 2 seasons Ben Simmons played in NBA, he attempted 17 3p shots in regular seasons, and none of them went into the rim. Lebron James showed that when he defend Simmons, he does not have to stay close when Simmons is near the 3p line. And actually that defense style worked out. BUT BUT BUT here is a great news! Finally he made his first 3p in NBA career at pre-season game against Guangzhou Long Lions. And it looked 3 ft away from the line, so it means his shooting is improving. Since he is working on 3p after the team practice and sinking many of it, the day that Simmons makes 3p is not far!
Hope 3. Do you still believe that one player can dunk four different decades?
Have you ever thought that one player can dunk four different decades? It sounds impossible, but when you look at at Vince Carter, it doesn’t seem it is impossible. Carter started playing in NBA 1998, and since then he keeps dunking every year, which means he dunked 90’s, 00’s, and 10’s in NBA. If he dunks next year (2020), he dunks four different decades in NBA. If includes his student time, since his first dunk was 6th grade, which he was 11 or 12 (1988 or 1989), he already dunked four different decades and will dunk 5 different decades. This is ridiculously great! Since he exceeded expectations people had on him, we can see him dunk in 2020.
Hope 4.. Do you still believe that NBA can have more new championship team?
NBA finals in 2010’s were mostly dominated by Team Lebron and Warriors. And it seemed like without Lebron James, or you are not part of Warriors, it is impossible to win the championship. Especially for teams that are not big franchise such as Hornets, Pelicans, and Raptors. But as you all know that Kawhi Raptors changed the history by winning against Golden Curry Warriors. There are 11 franchises that never won championship title in NBA which are: Suns. Clippers, Hornets, Pelicans, Nets, Wolves, Magic, Pacers, Jazz, Nuggets, and Grizzlies. It seems like that there is a hope or possibility for those teams to win the championship this season. Especially, Clippers and Nuggets have big possibility to win the tittle. And many fans are expecting conference final will be Lakers vs Clippers. But we never know what will happen.
These are just some of the hopes that can makes watching NBA more fun! Please comment if there are more that we can expect from NBA teams or players.
After watching NBA let’s play 1 on 1
