Which Draft Class Had Best Starting FIVE in 21st Century?

NBA draft is one of the most exciting part of the off season.  Last year, everyone was excited for Zion Williamson and some other players from Duke.  And it was very big day for people in Japan because Rui Hachimura was very first Japanese player who was drafted 1st round.  Most of the players who were in draft lottery played well in 19-20 season so far.  This draft class has many future stars!  So what about before?  Here is the Top 5 draft class by starting five members.

Honorable Mention

Draft Class 2017

PG De’Aaron Fox
SG Donovan Mitchell
SF Jayson Tatum
PF Kyle Kuzuma
C    Bam Adebayo

Three of them are already in All-Star.  Fox and Kuzuma are also All-Star prospect.  This class is full of potentials!

No.5

Draft Class 2010

PG John Wall
SG Paul George
SF Gordon Hayward
PF Hassan Whiteside
C    DeMarcus Cousins

This draft class is one of the best defensive team in the NBA history.  Only thing is that they are not really specialized with 3P which is very important today’s NBA.

No.4

Draft Class 2011

PG Kyrie Irving
SG Klay Thompson
SF Jimmy Butler
PF Kawhi Leonard
C    Nikola Vucevic

This draft class or 1984 has the best defensive team in the NBA history.  2010 might be having block party, but 2011 does not even let you shoot.  Not only the defense but also they are good offensive players.  Especially they can score from outside and inside, also they are clutch players.

No.3

Draft Class 2012

PG Damian Lillard
SG Bradly Beal
SF Kris Middleton
PF Anthony Davis
C    Andre Drummond

This class might have best balanced starting five.  All of them can shoot and defense.  They are good at dribbles and rebound, and they are not selfish.  There is no weakness in this team.

No.2

Draft Class 2003

PG LeBron James
SG Dwyane Wade
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Chris Bosh
C    Chris Kaman

First, I thought of this class is definitely top 1, but this team has weakness in inside and selfishness.  If LeBron can control the ball distribution, this team can score over 130 points every game.

No.1

Draft Class 2009

PG Stephen Curry
SG James Harden
SF DeMar DeRozan
PF Blake Griffin
C    Taj Gibson

This team is good in inside and outside.  Curry and James can hit from every in the court and DeRozan score from middle range.  Blake and Gibson has good move at low post.  Harden will be the scorer and Curry and DeRozan can support him.  Even though Harden seems selfish, but last several season he recorded more than 7 assists.  And in this team Blake waits in side and Curry waits outside.  Just thinking about it, it gives me goosebumps.
