NBA Slam Dunk Contest has been the most exciting part of the NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND.  This time I’d like to list TOP 3 Dunk Contest in history!!

Honorable mention

Superman has come 2008

Dwight Howard joined contest in 2007, but he was not able to advance to the final round, and after the loss, he came up with an idea which is to become superman because he was called superman that time.  He made a few inhuman dunks, and he dominated this contest.

No.3 Michael Jordan vs Dominique Wilkins 1988

These two flying human were iconic player in 80’s and they both were known for their vertical jumper and dunk.  Their first match was 1985, and Dominique won the contest.  1988 was Jordan’s revenge match with Dominique.  Since this game was held in Chicago, there were many Bulls’ fans in the stadium.  Each dunk Jordan and Dominique make, stadium shook and exploded.  This was most hyped contest ever.

No.2 Zach Lavine beat Aaron Gordon 2016

Slam Dunk Contest had been struggling in 2010’s.  Audiences were enjoying the contests, but it was not as exciting as how it used to be.  One reason was because all the dunks participants make were already seen before, so it was kind of replays.  But Aaron and Zach made several dunks that was never done in contest before.  Aaron Gordon made a few dunks that could score over 50 points.  And Zach Lavine also showed how it’s easy for him to make dunks and jump high.  Aaron did not win the contest, but he made some all time best dunks.

No.1 Vince Carter Dominated 2000

Vince Carter has changed the level of the Dunk Contest.  All the dunks he made were 50 points or 49 points.  There were no contestants who could make all the dunks with that high score.  His reverse 360 windmill made commentator say “Let’s go home!!” which means “He will win the contest, no need to continue.”  And he made a crowd silencer which is elbow dunk.  People had have never seen it before, and they did not even think that human could throw the elbow into the rim.  And he made the most beautiful between the legs dunk assisted by his cousin Tmac.  This Slam Dunk Contest was definitely the best ever.
