Who Are The Best NBA Comparison to Slam Dunk Character 2019

Slam Dunk is the most popular and famous basketball anime of all time.  Slam Dunk anime was aired 1993 to 1996, which is over 20 years ago, but still many people are watching this anime today.  Those years were time of Jordan, which you know one character was designed after him.  Here is the comparison of characters.

Sakuragi: Charles Barkley (it seems like Denis Rodman, but according to writer, he is more of like Barkley)
Rukawa: Michael Jordan (this is so obvious, his play-style, and wristband are just like Jordan)
Akagi: David Robinson (some says Ewing, but Uozumi is designed after Ewing)
Mitsui: Mark Price (3P specialist and clutch)
Miyagi: Kevin Johnson (the play-style and hair-style look so same)
Kogure: John Paxson (one of the best role players)

This is the Original comparison of Shohoku players.  But many of us was not active or some were not even born that time.  So who are the best comparison of Shohoku players today(2019)?

Sakuragi Hanamichi:  Sakuragi’s most outstanding feature except for his hair-style is his vertical and rebounding ability.  18-19 season, Andre Drummond was leading the rebound, but he is not really famous for his athleticism.  Giannis Antetokounmpo marked 12.5 rebound and his athleticism is absolutely amazing.  And like Sakuragi, he is not a very good shooter.  He looks good comparison.  Other good comparison: Blake Griffin, Draymond Green, and Aaron Gordon.

Rukawa Kaede: James Harden left 18-19 season with a crazy 36.1ppg and showed that he is one of the best scorers of all time.  Rukawa is also a scorer, but he does not hit 3P as much as Harden does.  And Harden does not dunk as much as Jordan used to, so Harden is not the one.  How about Kawhi Leonard?  He is a scorer and also clutch.  And most of all Kawhi is as quiet as Rukawa.  Kawhi is hungry with winning and also Rukawa hates losing.  Other good comparison: Lebron James and Russel Westbrook.

Akagi Takenori: Akagi is a great rebounder and defender.  He is also good at post play.  Actually there aren’t many player like him today since position-less basketball is trend now.  But there are some players who are specialized in inside: DeAndre Jordan, Zach Randolph, and Steven Adams.  It seems like Zach Randolph is most likely to Akagi because he is powerful and he has such a great post move.  Steven Adam is also like Akagi, but it seems like he is not as aggressive as Randolph.

Mitsui Hisashi: His biggest strength is 3P and he is clutch.  He was able to turned the table when it looked impossible.  There are a lot of great shooters today such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Buddy Hield, JJ Redick, and Kyle Kover.  For me he is a great 3P shooter, but not the only 3P like Kover and JJ.  So he is more of like Curry or Klay.  I would say Klay is most comparable to him because of scoring and 3P plus having other skills.

I will update more characters next week!
