What is Most Surprising in NBA So Far?

Even though you watch NBA every year there are many things that you cannot predict at all.  For example, how many of you predicted that Toronto Raptors would win the championship over Warriors before season starts?  How many of you guessed that Lebron James would miss the playoff after 13 consecutive appearance?  First quarter of the season has passed, and this season is also full of surprises.  What are the most surprising facts of this season?

Fact 1: Warriors turned strongest team to the weakest team

Last season, if there was no injury, Warriors might be the strongest team in the history.  Even though the time of Michael Jordan, Bulls did not have 5 all-star players.  Spurs had 3 all-star players, Celtics had 3 all-star players and 1 future all-star, and even Miami had only 4 all-star players, but none of the teams had 5 all-star players in the team ever in the history.  Warriors looked impossible to beat, but after the finals, Durant and Cousins left the team, and when season started, Curry injured.  now, Warriors is 1st team counting from the last.  This is shocking, not only for Warriors’ fans but also for other basketball fans.

Fact 2: Blazers and Spurs are struggling so much.

Spurs has record of 22 consecutive playoff appearance, but it looks that it will end this season if Spurs doesn’t make big change before trade deadline.  Blazers went to the conference final last season, but this season it is easier to find Blazers from bottom of the standings.  What’s interesting about these 2 teams is that they did not change the roster dramatically unlike Warriors.  Derozan and Aldridge stayed in Spurs, Lillard and McCollum stayed in Blazers, but they are struggling.  For Blazers, they added Carmelo Anthony and since he joined team is doing better than beginning of the season.  Spurs hasn’t found the solution yet, so this it will be playoff without Spurs.

Fact 3:  James Harden hasn’t turn back to human yet

James Harden might have the 3rd highest season average points at the end of the season.  Harden is averaging almost 39 points this season, and which is 3rd highest in the history.  This averaging point is higher than Kobe or Jordan.  At the beginning of the season his field goal percentage was about 38% and 3p percentage was about 30% which was not efficient, but each game his shooting percentage gets better.  Now we can really tell that he is one of the best offensive players in the history.

Fact 4:  Luka Doncic keeps growing

Usually sophomore players have hard time doing better than their rookie season at the beginning of the season because after their impulsive performance, teams learn how to stop them.  But this guy keeps playing better and better.  He is having almost triple double season.  Since Westbrook has done 3 years consecutively, it doesn’t sound as great as before, but there still only 2 players in the history did triple double season.  And this is his 2nd season in NBA, this is ridiculously incredible.

NBA is always full of surprises, and that makes us love basketball.  Please comment things that are most surprising for you!!
