Top 5 College Team In NBA (19-20)

Some people love to see stats and data, and I am one of them.  NBA Roster Survey has just issued, and I have been reading it over and over again.  There are a lot of interesting facts in the survey such as most popular jersey number and number of international players.  This time I’d like to focus on the colleges NBA players used to belong.

It is interesting that some colleges are ranked very high, but not many players became NBA players.  For example, Gonzaga University always appears to NCAA tournament and team won Maui Invitation in 2018, but current NBA players are only 6, and not many of them are elite players.

This time I ranked 5 top Universities Starting 5 with current NBA players!

5: KANSAS
KANSAS does not have any great PG in NBA, and it doesn’t have many elite players.  But if you only talk about potential its rank can be higher since they have Ben McLemore who was considered next Ray Allen, and Andrew Wiggins who earned ROY and still showing his high potential time to time.  And its best player is Joel Embiid who started playing basketball age of 15 and became one of MVP candidates.

PG: Ben McLemore
SG: Andrew Wiggins
SF: Marcus Morris
PF: Markieff Morris
C: Joel Embiid

4: UCLA
When I think of college basketball or college sports, I always think of UCLA first.  There are some former MVP from UCLA such as Kareem and Bill Walton.  Westbrook also won the MVP title and still making record of season average triple double.  Aside from Westbrook, there are two more good PG who are Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball.  It seems recent UCLA is providing good PG to NBA.

PG: Russel Westbrook
SG: Zach LaVine
SF: Trevor Ariza
PF: Kyle Anderson
C: Kevin Love

3: TEXAS
The roster of the Texas is not flashy compared to other teams, but one player is making this team rank 3 in this list.  Kevin Durant used to be one of the MVP who cannot win the NBA title, but since he experienced it 2 times, he became a player who can lead and make team win.  Aldridge is not a flashy and fun player, but he is a solid player and shoot from anywhere if he needs to.  This team doesn’t have many two-way players but it has both good offence and good defense players.

PG: Avery Bradley
SG: PJ Tucker
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Myles Turner

2: DUKE
Duke is one of the best college basketball teams in US and always appears to National tournaments.  Number of current NBA players from Duke is 23 and second most number after Kentucky.  Surprisingly there aren’t many all star level players from Duke right now.  But the roster is balanced and has great potential.

PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: JJ Redick
SF: Jayson Tatum
PF: Zion Williamson
C: Jabari Parker

1: KENTUCKY
Kentucky has the most number of current NBA players today which is 28 players.  As you can see the players in this list, many of them can be all star or MVP candidates.  In this list Devin Booker is the only player who did not make it to all star game, but he scored 70 in his sophomore year, and he also won 3p contest in 2018.  There still lots of good players in NBA today.  Eric Bledso, Rajon Rondo, De’Aaron Fox, Jamal Murray, and Julius Randle.  Rondo used to be all star player, and Fox and Murray are future all stars.  It seems like there is no chance for other teams to beat NBA Kentucky team.

PG: John Wall
SG: Devin Booker
SF: Anthony Davis
PF: Karl-Anthony Towns
C: DeMarcus Cousins
