LeBron As Point Guard
You already have heard that LeBron James will be playing as a Point Guard this coming NBA season. In my opinion, it is a smart idea to put LeBron as Point Guard. Today I want to share 3 reasons why it is a smart idea to put LeBron as Point Guard.
- “LeBron James has great passing sense and skill.” Have you noticed that when you watch top 10 assists or assist highlights, there are some assists he made in the video, and those are unpredictable and also leading to the point. He averaged 7.2 APG for his career and never lovered 6 APG except for his rookie season (5.9 APG). This is higher than many Point Guard such as Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, and Damian Lillard. He is also ranked No.10 in all time assist leaders. If he average 5 APG this coming season, he will pass Gary Payton and Isiah Thomas and become No.8. This shows that LeBron is better passer than most of the Point Guards.
- “His athleticism hasn’t faded yet.” When LeBron came to the league, many people thought that his performance will decrease after 30 years also since many of his play depend on his athleticism, but as we can see, he is not a human. He has speed and quickness that he can guard smaller players. He also has power and height that he can guard PF and some Centers. Today, it is an advantage to have tall Point Guard. Point Guards used to be the play maker, but today, there are a lot of big guys who have the roll to be the play maker such as Ben Simmons and Nikola Jokic. When play maker is tall, he can see the court better, and there are many passes that can go through when small player cannot do it.
- “He has good basketball IQ.” Since Point Guard used to be called coach on the floor, they needed to have high basketball IQ. Since he has great basketball IQ, there was no problem with playing different positions. He used to be a play maker in Cleveland this is not hard for him.
These are just major reasons, and there are more reasons why it is a great idea to have him as Point Guard.
