1 on 1 Killer

Kobe Bryant is one of the best 1 on 1 players in basketball history.  He scored most of his points by 1 on 1.  He was specialized with turn around fade away jumper and pull up jumper.  These shootings are pretty basic and not so flashy, but it is extreamly effective.  There are 3 reasons why jump shot is effective.

1.  It is basic.  Jump shot and layup are the shoots you practice the most.  Not many people spend so much time on practicing dunk or double clutch, or something tricky.

2.  Same form all the time.  It may be a bit different depends on the distance, but no need to change the form.  If it’s layup, you can’t do same all the time because of the defence.  No matter there is defence or not how you shoot doesn’t change.

3.  Hard to block.  When it comes to 1 on 1, you don’t see jump shot gets blocked.  Defence can’t stay too close or else offence can pass defence.  Offence moves first and defence follows, so it is hard to reach the top faster than offence.

Those are the reason why jump shot is effective.  But it is easy to understand when you see Kobe play.  Please watch video below and practice!!
